CELLULE

Nogal x Almirante. Alternative type, bearded wheat from Desprez in France which is now in year 3 of Irish official trials in 2019 – potential candidate for recommendation this autumn. Fast developing and very early maturing (similar to Soissons), typically 10-14 days ahead of other varieties. Very good resistance to septoria and rust, but prone to mildew. Best as first wheat and ideally suited to later drilling. Short strawed with good lodging resistance. Excellent grain quality with high KPH, high hagberg, good sprouting resistance and above average protein content.
