KWS CASSIA

(Eden x Carat) x Saffron. Longest serving variety on current Rec List and it still remains Ireland’s most widely sown winter barley, this year accounting for 29% of area sown. Hugely popular with growers who know Cassia is a highly consistent and reliable variety, despite its lowly yield ranking on the Rec List. Carries this highest rating for bushel weight on Irish Rec List = 69.8 KPH. Cassia is good on Net Blotch and Brown Rust, but is prone to rhyncho and particularly mildew. Also being used as roasting barley in breweries.
