Cougar x Santiago. New soft Group 4 variety from RAGT UK which is now in second year DAFM official trials in Ireland. Performed well in 2019 with an average yield of 103 in NL trials. Strong strawed with excellent rust resistance (YR = 9, BR = 8) with good resistance also to septoria and fusarium. Slow developing and late maturing variety which is well suited to early drilling. Average spec weight (75-76 KPH) with reasonable hagberg (210) for a soft wheat. Looks to be coping with drought and stressful conditions very well this year.
