GERALDINE

Now hugely popular with growers, GERALDINE is Ireland’s biggest selling feed-barley variety for Harvest 2026

High yield potential
with an excellent agronomic profile, well-suited to Irish growing conditions.

Dual-purpose variety suitable for both feed and malting; non-GN producer, making it potentially viable for brewing and distilling.

Strong straw characteristics with good resistance to brackling and straw breakdown.

Good disease resistance, especially against wet weather diseases, simplifying spray management in May and June.

Vigorous early growth with strong tillering, creating a dense canopy for maximum shoot numbers per square metre.

Earlier harvest (-2 days compared to most listed varieties), helping to spread risk and workload.

Good grain quality, with a high bushel weight and screening levels comparable to Gangway.
